The NAA has been providing comprehensive information and essential support to people with aphasia and their caregivers for over twenty-five years. AphasiaToolbox has supported the NAA efforts from its inception.
On the NAA website, resources for the more than 2 million people with aphasia include: aphasia apps, books, ID cards; picture communication cards, therapy guide, and videos; communication guide; related organizations, aphasia centers, and online communities.
Founded in 1987 by Martha Taylor Sarno, several of its board members, including the President, are people with aphasia or family members. The NAA goal is to provide access to research, education, rehabilitation, therapeutic and advocacy services to individuals with aphasia and their caregivers. The NAA acts as a syndicate of resources, promoting sense of community among individuals and caregivers.
