As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, I am passionate about helping people heal, change, and grow personally while building healthy, satisfying lives and relationships. I began my professional life teaching high school social science in the Birmingham area. Students, parents, and friends would often come to me with life and relationship challenges and I realized it was helping people with these complicated parts of their lives was my true passion.

I hold graduate degrees from the University of Alabama @ Birmingham and the University of Montevallo.  As Nationally Board Certified Counselor with additional training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR & Trauma Narrative, Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples, I have experience working with adults, adolescents, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and ethnicities.  I have extensive experience and training working with couples struggling through the challenge of infidelity.

I opened Cahaba Marriage & Family Counseling, LLC in January of 2013. Since opening my practice, I have been abundantly blessed and privileged to walk with 100s of clients through the life challenges they face. I use an integrated approach to therapy combining evidenced based interventions from several treatment methods designed specifically to meet the needs of each client or couple. My goal is always to be genuine, direct, honest, compassionate, and non-judgmental with all of my clients in a safe, supportive, relaxed environment.
