Graduate Student Blaire Eeds

BLAIRE EEDS

Hi! I'm Blaire Eeds, and I am passionate about helping others navigate life's difficulties and transitions.  It is an honor and privilege to work with those seeking support. As a Dallas native, I reside with my dog, Lola, and cat, Berlioz. I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Oklahoma in 2007. Through the Chicago School of Psychology I am finishing my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

My life experiences have provided me with a unique perspective that enables me to relate with those experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma. Professionally, I have many years of experience in the restaurant industry and corporate customer service, having managed and coached several teams of customer service representatives in providing outstanding support. I have always been passionate about helping others and bringing a light to their day; I have a servant's heart. I am deeply intuitive, empathetic, down to earth, and compassionate.

Therapeutically I offer a safe space, free of judgement, where clients are able to be their true selves. With Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed, and person-centered techniques, I help my clients build resilience and confidence, develop healthy coping skills, and empower them to create a fulfilling and meaningful life. I use a collaborative, holistic approach to ensure that what is done in therapy is personalized and unique to you.

I believe that the mind, body, and spirit need alignment for a person to be healthy. Eastern philosophies bring a helpful structure to living a mindful and aware life, as self-awareness is important in connecting and understanding oneself and others. By building self-awareness, compassion, and confidence, we become our authentic selves, which is essential for experiencing happiness and joy. When we deny ourselves of our true identity we become depressed and anxious. As Carl Jung said, “The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are”.

Life is challenging, and we can learn to handle those challenges gracefully and in ways that do not disrupt our overall wellbeing. Just as we care for our physical body by exercising and maintaining a healthy diet or our spirit by participating in religious or spiritual practices; we must also take care of our mind.
