FAQ's

Will manual physical therapy help me with pain relief?

RIVER OAKS Physical Therapy is focused on helping people. Manual therapy refers to the “hands-on” treatment of under performing muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints. Specific soft tissue techniques are also used to improve the mobility and functioning of tissues, nerves, and muscles. The natural healing effects of human touch is an essential aspect of our treatment philosophy. Most patients enjoy a faster recovery and improved sense of well-being when manual therapy in used in conjunction with exercise and education.

We specialize in spine and joints pain treatment such lower and upper back pain, spinal disc issues, neck pain, facial pain, knee pain, hip pain, frozen shoulder and other arthritic issues. We work diligently to determine the source of that pain for treatment. We also offer myofascial release and physiotherapy.

How is manual physical therapy different than other types of therapies?

Manual physical therapy is a specialized form of physical therapy delivered with the hands as opposed to a device or machine. In manual therapy, practitioners use their hands to put pressure on muscle tissue and manipulate joints in an attempt to decrease pain caused by muscle spasm, muscle tension, and joint dysfunction.
