Welcome to JSR Family Therapy

Our practice is located in Palm Desert, California and specializes in the treatment of adolescents, adults and couples experiencing change. Life transitions can be difficult, especially when undergoing a divorce, navigating a blended family, parenting a teenager, beginning or ending relationships, or more recently--learning to do our jobs and school work from home. Even positive life transitions, like entering college, having children or marrying, can cause stress.

Changes in our life, whether chosen or unexpected, can influence personal growth. Successfully dealing with a change may leave you feeling stronger, more confident and better prepared for what comes next in life, but you don’t have to experience those changes alone. Our qualified therapists will meet you where you are, to help you cope with the transitions in your life by navigating through those changes with support and individualized strategies. Let’s view change as an opportunity and work together to bring comfort and peace back to your life.

Meet Our Team

Julie

Julie S. Reynolds, LMFT

Hello, I'm Julie Reynolds, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and owner of JSR Family Therapy, Inc.  Working as a therapist is the realization of my dream to help others--and I love what I do.  Being there for my clients during challenging times in their lives and watching them grow, become empowered, and just plain feel better, is so rewarding. I believe the relationship between a client and therapist is the most important aspect of therapy. If you feel safe, comfortable and develop trust, then real healing can happen.  I pride myself on providing a safe, comfortable space and being someone you can trust.  You can count on me to meet you where you are, with acceptance, and without judgment.

I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults, with teens making up a large portion of my practice. I have a passion for helping individuals heal from the trauma of emotional abuse and narcissistic relationships. Whatever stage of life you are in or the issue you are facing, I am ready to support you.

Chelsea

Chelsea Murphy, LMFT

Hi, I’m Chelsea. I’m originally from the east coast where I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology and completed my master's in psychology with an emphasis on Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Central Florida. Before working in the mental health field, I spent a total of ten years working in childcare and early education.

I describe my style of therapy as holistic wellness with elements of cognitive behavioral and person-centered therapy. My goal is to develop a strong therapeutic alliance with my clients in order to provide a nonjudgmental and safe environment for healing. Being an adolescent can be tough and it is my honor to be entrusted with helping young people navigate their mental health.

New Staff

Lindsay Sammann, AMFT

Hello there! I’m Lindsay Sammann, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. My background is in adolescent intensive outpatient care, where I worked closely with teens and families navigating some of the most vulnerable and challenging moments in their lives. That experience shaped the way I approach therapy today and deepened my belief in the importance of creating a space where people feel safe, understood, and supported without judgment. Being able to sit with someone during difficult times and watch them reconnect with themselves and begin to trust their own voice is one of the most meaningful parts of this work for me.

I believe therapy works best when it feels like a space where you can slow down and be fully yourself. Many people come in feeling overwhelmed, stuck in familiar patterns, or unsure how they ended up where they are. Together, we explore what you’ve been carrying, make sense of your experiences, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have been pushed aside along the way.

Many of the individuals I work with are navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, addiction, codependency, or major life transitions and may feel they’ve lost touch with who they are. My goal is to help clients reconnect with the wisdom they already carry as they find their way back to themselves and toward a life that feels uniquely their own.
