Hi! I’m Megan Wheelock, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and native of Rockwall. I have joined Cary Scott Counseling as therapist who works with individuals, couples, and minors struggling with anxiety, depression, self-concept, relationships, and more. I earned my Master’s of Science in Clinical Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas A&M University-Commerce.
During my master's studies, I worked with diverse populations, focusing particularly on rural mental health, in both counseling and assessment. My training in clinical psychology and experience as a Registered Behavior Technician has sharpened my critical thinking skills and provided me with new perspectives on diagnosis and treatment planning. I have experience working with a wide range of mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and learning disabilities.
I have learned that life often presents us with problems that create hardship and traumatic outcomes. The therapeutic process not only provides connection through understanding and compassion but also a way through those problems that leaves us with a stronger since of self and personal empowerment.
As a lover of animals, I appreciate the genuine trust and belonging they offer. I strive to bring that same unconditional acceptance and positivity in my therapeutic relationships. I meet my clients where they are and move forward with them, providing the tools they need to help themselves in the future.
