Rates & Insurance

Do you take insurance, and how does that work?

As of 12/1/2017 Southwwest Psychological Services, Llc. accepts AETNA insurance for qualifying therapeutic conditions. We will continue expanding our insurance coverage to accept additional providers in the Fall of 2020 and Winter of 2021.

Cost of Intellectual, Academic, Vocational Evaluations

Although an evaluation may seem expensive, it can be one of the most important investments you make in your child's life. By the end of the process, you will be provided a comprehensive report with detailed information about your child's strengths and challenges. In addition, we will provide you with practical suggestions to help your child at home and at school. Results from the evaluation can assist your child's pediatrician or school system to implement any necessary actions.

Our fees cover the following:
• Consultation and evaluation sessions
• Interviews with parents, child, and/or teacher(s)
• Administration of intellectual, processing, achievement, and/or additional evaluation measures
• Comprehensive report with test results, interpretation, and recommendations
• Conference in our office to discuss the evaluation results

Testing fees are the sole responsibility of the child's family. We do not bill insurance companies for initial intellectual/academic evaluation costs. However, our fees may be considered an appropriate medical expense through AETNA or a flexible spending account (FSA). Please check with your insurance provider/employer to determine the guidelines for reimbursed expenses through either AETNA or your flexible spending account.

The fees for your child's evaluation will vary based on the uniqueness of their case. You will receive a quote for your child's evaluation, in addition to a detailed bill for services provided. A deposit of 50% is required prior to the first evaluation meeting/session. The remaining balance must be paid upon receipt of the evaluation report.

Billing for consultation services, outside report review, research, school-based meetings, travel costs, workshops, additional meetings beyond the report conference, and other services are billed at our group's standard hourly rate ($125/hour). Payment is due upon service.

Payment for Services
Payments may be made by cash, check, and/or debit/credit cards. When necessary, a return check fee for the amount of the check plus a return check charge of $25 will be applied to your account. Payments that are not made within 60 days of becoming due, will accrue interest on the unpaid amount from that date forward at the highest rate allowable by law. The client will be obligated to pay all costs of collection, including reasonable attorney fees when necessary.

Reduced Fee
Reduced fee services are available on a limited basis. We are committed to working with all of our clients on a case by case basis.

Cancellation Policy
If you do not show up for your scheduled appointment, and you have not notified us at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session.
