Elaine Spruill-Counselor
Hello! My name is Elaine Spruill. I am a mother of two beautiful daughters, a native of NC and resident of MD for 18 years. Upon my arrival, I utilized my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology as a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Specialist for a several years. In this position, I worked with adults who suffered from severe mental illnesses and taught psychoeducational classes to help with their improvement.
Through this job, I was able to solidify what God had been showing me all my life, I was meant to be a teacher!! Immediately I started to pursue education courses, which earned me dual teaching certification in both Early Childhood and Elementary Education. . In addition, I have earned my Masters of Elementary Education degree.
I officially joined the education field, 14 years ago and am entering my 12 year as an elementary school teacher. During this journey, I have worked in Prince George’s County Public Schools teaching both Pre-K and 3rd grades. In the nine years that I have been at Charles County Public Schools, I have taught 2nd and 4th grades. I have currently served as the 4th grade team leader, PBIS Secretary, PBIS immediate liaison, and PBIS Fundraiser Committee Chair. At my previous schools, I served on the Social Committee, PBIS team and as the “Just Say No” Club Chair for numerous years. I am passionate about building relationships, meeting children where they are, and helping them successfully providing them with tools to cope through life.
