Our group includes peer to peer discussion. This will provide space and time for you to explore your concerns. We will encourage participants to share concerns, successes and coping strategies. Through sharing experiences, learning and practicing coping skills, participants will gain a better understanding on how to lessen their worries and feel more secure. When one is going through issues in life, they can feel isolated, lost, and have no sense of direction, but interacting with others who know what it’s like can help to make a great difference and less alone. This process can lead to a sudden insight that will shift the ways in which a person perceives and responds to life. Sharing feelings, experiences and pain with a group can help you release your anger and pent-up emotions. Group members will develop a stronger sense of self-reliance learning to understand that they are ultimately in control of their behaviors, actions and choices. The overall goal will strengthen the participant behavior and thinking, to help them make positive choices and avoid harmful situations. Therapists can also instill hope in group members when participants make progress toward their goals.
