Kelly prioritizes therapeutic relationships, makes mindfulness approachable, and is focused on finding realistic strategies to attain meaningful improvements in the clients she supports. She applies somatic-based approaches to support clients experiencing ADHD, trauma, adverse life experiences and chronic PTSD, anxiety and depression symptoms, attachment and relationships concerns, grief and loss, and life transition stress. Kelly also adapts her training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive and Schema Processing, Attachment and Polyvagal Theory, mindfulness-based Hakomi, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
Kelly found her roots in somatic-based therapy, mindfulness, and holistic healing as an American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) certified massage therapist for 20 years. Mindfulness and somatic therapy focuses on clients’ strengths to improve their lives and mental health by increasing knowledge and understanding about the nervous system and body signals, intrinsic beliefs, thought and emotional patterns, and how our values guide us. Somatic therapy simply means learning to become more connected and accepting of ourselves by learning about what comes from our mind and our body systems. We get to know how to work with, rather than "fix", the workings of the body, emotions, and thoughts. Understand to how use what matters to us, what we value, to improve ourselves and reduce suffering.
